5 Important Study Tips

Many children find it exceptionally hard to sit down and concentrate on studying for hours at an end. They often don’t have the patience it takes for the same and hence falls short in their academic performance. For situations like these, there are certain tips that can come in handy and we have listed out some of them:

1: CREATE A STUDY PLAN:
Planning out your course of action will always help smoothen out the path forward. Before you sit down to study, make a study plan for the next few days and assign work accordingly. This way, if you feel overwhelmed by an overload of work, you can balance it out over the days and complete it. Every time you tick a completed task, it will give you the boost of motivation needed to complete the next one.

2: TAKING STUDY BREAKS:
Despite what you might think, no-one can concentrate for hours on an end without getting bored or distracted. If you force yourself to keep going at it, you will lose interest in whatever it is you are studying and this, in turn, will lessen your ability to learn anything. As a result, ensure that you assign enough study breaks to keep you fresh and motivated to finish studying. Use these breaks to relax and indulge in whatever recreational activity interests you.

3: HAVE AN ASSIGNED STUDY SPACE:
Study in an area that you feel suits you and your ability to learn. It doesn’t matter where it is, be it at a desk at home, the library, a park, the terrace, as long as space keeps your mind from drifting away from your work or losing concentration. In other words, choose a study space that is comfortable and doesn’t allow for any distractions from your work.

4: HAVE YOUR OWN NOTES:
One of the best and most important study tips you can be given is to have notes for whatever you study. These need not be very detailed notes but simple bullet-pointed ones that will help you recollect and revise. Converting your notes to flashcards will again, help you learn and revise quicker without confusion.

5: STAY ORGANISED:

Make sure that you have organised notes for each day and keep track of the time you allot for each task, every day. Make lists of tasks to be done each day and ensure that you complete them on schedule. This will help you stay on top of your work and meet all your deadlines without any confusion.
